Unable to load "Read in Microsoft Reader" add-in for Word as unprivileged user

I've successfully downloaded and used the add-in which allows you to save
Word documents in "Microsoft Reader" format - useful in preparing documents
for a PocketPC.

I'm now using my machine routinely as an unprivileged user, and I can't get
the thing to work. When I try to run the downloaded installer, I get an
error message saying (inappropriately) that I don't seem to have Word 2000
or XP on my machine (I have Office XP). Presumably this is the result of
inadequate permissions to read some data somewhere.

If I copy the installed add-in from the Administrator's filespace (Docs &
Settings/AdministrativeUser//Application Data/Microsoft/Addins) I can see
the file (in the COM Addins dialogue) but it won't "select it".

I do want to persist in using my machine this way as I need to understand
these issues for my customers, who often don't want to give employees full
Admin rights.

Any ideas, anyone?

Can you temporarily grant local admin access to the user account(s) in
question, log in as the user(s), install the add-in, take the rights away
and then log in again with the user account?

Thanks, "Lanwench" (!!) - that sounds like a great idea. I'll wait a day or
two to see if any other ideas emerge, as I fear that this approach may make
it impossible to experiment with other solutions afterwards. I guess I
could create a shortcut to Word to use Admin credentials to give another way
of bumping up the privileges. I'll post back with the results when I've
tried it.

I'm finding it much harder than expected to run (as MS advise) as a
non-privileged user. I find I can't run Norton Antivirus LiveUpdate as an
ordinary user, without opening up that whole folder hierarchy, which rather
defeats the object! I'm learning a lot from this process...
