My CDRom device driver can't load (Device Manager Code 31)
How do I repair the problem without access to my CDROM drive?
Here's some details:
Windows 2000
Polaroid BurnMax48 CDROM drive
What happened, is this: I tried to read a broken-shattered
actually- CD (I know this was a stupid move), some pieces
of the shattered CD broke off into my CD drive. At this
point, I removed all that I could, but windows Blue
Screened upon start-up and told me to remove any newly
installed HW.
At this point it actually told me the name of the driver
file it was trying to load--but like a dummy, I didn't
write it down.
I removed the drive and installed a new one.
Now it just silently fails to load the device driver.
WHAT can I do now? HELP!
