Unable to keep regedit or msconfig open

Hello every one,

Hope someone out there can help. When I press the run
command to open subject functions they will somtimes not
open at all or open for only 1-2 seconds and then close.

I am usingWin XP home edition. Also if I resinstall Win
XP over my present Win XP will it erase my activation
code??

Thank you very much Taurarian. I did have a spybot worm
in my computer. I went to the symantec site and did as
suggested and it erased the worm. I naow can read Regedit
and MSConfig.
