I am not able to install the Anti-Spywre package.
These messages arew from my Event Viewer:

Service Control manager
The Windows Defender Service service terminated with the following error:

The description for Event ID ( 5007 ) in Source ( WinDefend ) cannot be

message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following
information is part of the event: %%826, 1.1.1051.0, N/A\Signature
Updates\EngineVersion = , HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Signature
Updates\EngineVersion = 1.1.1185.0, , .

Thanks for your help

That won't help with this one, I'm afraid--it only applies to installation
issues--and this one's an operation after installation problem. (and I don't
have any good answer either!)

This one is unique in my experience, but I was able to google a couple of
references to it, neither with any resolution except uninstallation,
unfortunately.

I'm not even sure exactly what the message indicates--the Windows Defender
service is an integral part of Windows Defender--it provides real-time
protection, and also does considerable work during a scan.

So--without it, the app isn't worth much.

I can think of two things to try, without much faith: 1) go to Windows
Update and apply all offered Windows Defender definition updates.

2) Do a repair install--start, control panel, add or remove programs,
Windows Defender, change, update.
