Unable to install updates from MS update site.

Anybody else having problems installing updates from the
update site?

Since the site has changed we are completely unable to
install 'any' of the updates, which is of course causing
absolute havoc for us.

All we receive is the following message : 'Windows Update
has encountered an error and cannot display the requested
page'. With the error number 0x80072EEF. The PC's we
are attempting to update are fresh XP installs, with no
amendments at all.

Any ideas?
 
You receive an "Error 0x80072EE2" or "Error 0x80072EFD" error message when
you try to use Windows Update

Ditto- I have the same issue.
Any ideas?

Hi

Error 0x80072EE2 is:

ERROR_INTERNET_TIMEOUT
The request has timed out.


Here is a Knowledge Base article mentioning this error:


You receive an "Error 0x80072EE2" or "Error 0x80072EFD" error message
when you try to use Windows Update

If you have Norton Internet Security or something similar installed
(e.g. some 3rd party firewall as mentioned in the article above),
you might need to reconfigure or disable it.

I am getting the same error message but I do not have any
firewall installed. I tried all of the MS Support
resolution options but the issue is still there. In
addition, I notice that I can not access HOTMAIL email.
Seems to be related. I have not found other sites that
have problems at this time. Any ideas?
