Hi there,

I have just reinstalled my Windows 2000 Prof.
and installed service pack 2.

When I'm trying to install my printer it goes fine untill I click the
"finish" button. Then it says "Unable to install printer" an event is posted
in the log, which is saying that the printer has been deleted.

Every time I restart my computer and logon it finds my printer, but it fails
to install and writes the following error message:

- snip -
An error occured during the installation of the device
The data area passed to a system call is too small.
- snip-

Can anyone please tell me why I get this message and important how I get rit
of it so I'll be able to install my printer, which is a HP Laserjet 1000
with a USB interface.

I hope for a soon reply.

Thanks in regard,
Jess

This error typically occurs during the installation process when driver files begin to copy, causing the PC to lock up
follow
instruction from above URL.

Hi there,

When I'm trying to uninstall the driver it says that it couldn't start the
installation program followed by "The remote procedure call failed" in the
next line.

Why can't I uninstall the driver?

Thanks in regards,
Jess

Now I succeeded to uninstall.

I had to install it again and then use the ZUNINST tool as mentioned at the
website.

The printer is now working. :o)

Thanks for your help.
