Unable to install Outlook 2007/unable to uninstall Office 97, 2000

I'm upgrading from Office 2003 to Office 2007, but Outlook didn't install. I
uninstalled 2003, but Outlook is still unavailable. In running diagnostics,
it appears that there's some copy of Outlook (I can open Outlook Express 6)
remaining from Office 2000. I have disk 2, but can't locate disk 1 from
Office 2000, nor the disk from Office 97. Any suggestions on how to get
around this Catch-22?
 
Which version of Office 2003 do you have and which version of Office 2007 are you trying to upgrade to
