CAN ANYBODY HELP
I have a Sony DVD camcorder which seems to perform great. [this is 2 month
old] Having just been on a trip to Australia and Japan I have 3 discs [30
minutes each]] so these I transfered to my computer. Today I wanted to make
a movie out of these clips.. this is the message I get when I try to import
into WMM #clips\Cap0001.mpg could not be importrd. An interface has too many
methods to fire events from# Please help and explain what this means.
Thanks KARLES

DVDs use MPEG-2 files, which Movie Maker doesn't work with... You need to
use other software to convert the files into AVI files that work in MM2.

See the Digital Camcorders > Sony page of my site, and the Importing Source
Files > Video > Discs pages of my site for some info.

Thanks at least I now know there is nothing serious wrong with my computer or
my little knowledge!! Could I ask what kind of software there is around to do
this conversion? As I will need it all the time to make movies in MM.
Thank you
Karles

The page about Sony camcorders has this post:

4/28/04 (Dave) - Right click the video thumbnail in Imagemixer and choose
"export as movie" - export to DV/AVI. Click the first of the check boxes for
resize options (not the second or both) - otherwise there are problems with
aspect ratio (on my machine anyway). The AVI files work a treat in MM2.

Does that work for you?

Hi Dave,
Thank you so much for the information and I am going to try that TODAY. So
that after my trip to Alaska [in September] I will be able to make a half
decent movie!!
I can't imagine were a senior with not that much knowledge would do without
the help of forums like this one.
I just love the new technologe around today.
Thanl you once again
