I have created AVI movies using a Canon PowerShot camera and want to rotate
them through 90 degrees. I understand that Movie Maker can do this, but when
I try to import the movies I get a message stating "could not be imported.
Unspecified error."

Any help is appreciated.

===============================
Yes...Movie Maker can rotate the clips...
just drag them to the timeline and add
the appropriate Effect by drag/drop...
'Rotate 90' for example...

Then you will have to re-save the clips.

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Tick...'Best Quality For My Computer'
Next/
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...
