Unable to go to Standby after installing 822603

As the subject says: Before this update, my pc would power down my disks
and go into standby after the appropriate amount of time based on my Power
Management settings. Since this update, no such luck. My monitor will go
to sleep but nothing else seems to power down, almost as if it is completely
ignoring my Power Management settings.

I have since uninstalled the hotfix to see if that fixed it and
unfortunately it hasn't. BTW, this has happened on both of my pcs, both
running XP Home. I know I can supposedly do a System Restore to set things
right, but it's been a week and I'd rather not. I was hoping someone might
have an idea what might be wrong or what else I could try to correct this
issue.

Hi Craig,

Your computer may have an older version of the software
driver that is not compatible with the Window software on
your computer.

Try search for *.sys files. If it is too old, you may
try to move it to an unrelated directory and then reboot
the computer.
