"Unable to get renderer"

I'm using MS explorer V 6.0 across an ADSL connection.
When I log onto my exchange server to check e-mail, the
login process seems to complete satisfactorily but where I
would normally see the e-mail subject lines, I get an
error message that reads "Unable to get renderer".
Anybody know what the problem is?
