Unable to format

Hi.. I hv 40 gb hard disk which m using as master.....

And I hv Samsung SP0802N 80 gb hard disk... there is not a single data in this hard disk.. but now m not able to format the disk.. it goes upto 86% and then stops... it is getting detected in BIOS... PLZ suggest a solution.. and also can neone plz tell how to connect jumpers...

Jumper details are usually written on the HHD themselves . Set one as a master and one as a slave . Partition Magic or similar programes are good for re-formatting .
