Unable to finish burn error archiving in Digital Image Library (2006)

Archiving to CD errors part way through with an error saying it was
unable to finish the burn. Searches through newsgroups and MS support
haven't yeilded any help although this error seems pretty common.

I can also burn from the Windows Explorer just by dragging and dropping
so the player and driver is fine. A few months ago I archived
successfully after several failed attempts times. Could have have
bought a bum batch of CDRs?

CD player is a Sony CDR/DVD CRX380E (in a Dell which just had a driver
update which I installed).
