Hello . . .
On a Windows 2000 SP4 Active Directory machine, I'm
trying to add a .msi file to a group policy, but
consistently get the following error, no matter what .msi
file I use as "Assigned" or otherwise:
"Add operation failed. Unable to extract deployment
information from the package. Run validation on the
package to ensure that the package is correct."
Some of the .msi files I'm trying to use have worked
successfully in the past.
The only other thing that might be of note . . . when I
try to run the .msi to install the software on the local
computer, I get an error, "The system administrator has
set policies to prevent this installation".
I have reviewed Microsoft's KB regarding previously or
currently installed packages; the software has never been
installed on the server I'm working on.
Any ideas? Thanks.
