when instructing office xp contacts to export to a csv file, 'next' is greyed
out unabale to continue, same with 'tab' only .pst will continue

Try to post exact steps more clearly and include your Outlook version.
You've posted no information we could use to troubleshoot.

Russ - I ran into this last night. I wanted to export my Outlook 2003
contacts to a .csv to play with (mapping, etc.) and used the Wizard to
export to a Comma Separated Values (Windows). After pressing the Next
button, the next window comes up blank and will not populate with any
choices. After walking away (watched our guy blow away the competition in
the 5000 meters) and coming back 30 minutes later, the window is still not
populated. The only choices are "back" and "cancel." Since this was not
important, I chose cancel.

I suspect a rogue add-in. I just installed Attensa (released version)
Friday night as the last thing added to this desktop configuration. I would
suspect a likewise misbehaving add-in in the OP's situation.

Odd. Still works fine and same as always here.
I haven't seen any similar reports thus far, have you?

No, and since this JUST happened last night, I thought I would post it here
for your consideration. I have never seen any reports like this happening
with any of the Import/Export wizards. I mentioned that I use lots of
add-ins (heh, heh) and I truly suspect that one of them has upset Outlook's
ability to populate that specific window.

ALERT: I have since rebooted my computer (darn cell phone blue-screened it)
and everything works as advertised now. Ah, between Windows and Outlook,
life is full of surprises!
