Hi,

I had some boot up problems and ended up using the XP recovery disc, which
seemed to sort the problems out. However, I seem to be stuck in the recovery
mode. I.e. if I use Windows Explorer the C Drive is displayed as 'RECOVERY
C:' with only about 5 GB of space. Everything else seems normal and works okay

Anytime I reboot, it automatically takes me into this mode

Any idea how I can reboot and enter XP in the 'normal' mode?

Help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Marcus

The "Standard" MS version of XP does not include, by default, a 'recovery C:'
partition, or drive. Your system was created by another maker, (some OEM),
who created this 'recovery' mode. I suggest posting some info about who that
might be, so that anyone on the newsgroup with that type system might explain
the technique for you.
I think most people would assume you are seeing some 'hidden partition' used
for recovery. Getting back to the way you were would depend on how the OEM
constructed your system's recovery mode.

its likely you simply
have to rename the c
drive to any other
name you prefer.

in regards to the
boot mode, you
might be able to
fix that with the
same cd you used
previously.

it is unclear what commands
you used previously and what
issue you overcame, however
you might try either the:

fixboot (and or)

bootcfg
