Unable to download

[GEK60]

IE will not download any files from the internet. IE will
browse just fine and all web pages appear normal but any
attempt to download a file fails. The download progress
window appears but no download starts and the following
message appears, "Internet Explorer cannot download
[filename] from [webserver]." I tried using another
browser and had no problems downloading the same files.

Any ideas for a fix?

Rule out parasites.
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
