I have never had an issue downloading any online programs. Now I can not
download using the suggested download program, nor can I get the whole file
using explorer. I have my product key and no way to use it. Any suggestions?

Use Free Download Manager
Then download from your browser not that Akami
Im still looking for the akami one I download.
Free worked ok

Here is where I stand with the download process with Vista RC1. I never like
to use freeware as it usually never works right or is so week you have to buy
the full version just to get what you want. So I tried the Free Download
Manager. It worked without a problem. I opened the download manager did a
copy and past of the url for the browser download and it did its thing. Got
interrupted once but I pushed download and it picked right back up. All this
after trying for days to use the “suggested†download program and also unable
to download Vista using explorer. I was getting error messages on Akami from
Vista telling me that I can not install the Active X from Akami. Yes, I
checked every security setting, turned off all firewall and virus programs
and still Beta 2 would not let me use Akami. Trying to use the browser method
I could only get 7mb of the program. SO, Free Download Manager worked for me
Now to the installation problem. Vista RC1 will not load. I get 21% into the
process and it shuts down and tells me that it encountered a problem and can
not continue, click cancel and the computer will be restored to its original
state, WRONG. It took me 3 hours to get my computer to boot up and it still
is not right. I took the chance and tried to load the program again hoping
that it just ran into a glitch the first time and again 21% and it stops.
I am at the point of downloading RC1 again and see if I had a download
problem.
If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I guess I wonder why MS felt it necessary to institute a new downloader. My
problem is that when I attempt to usr the IE download I get a can't
open--unrecognizable file type. Also Akami won't download the file. Can't
download RC1.
What to do?

I now have 3 copies of Vista RC1. The load process stops at 21% giving me an
error message of not being able to reboot to complete the instalation
process. The last copy I burned I burned at 2X as I saw on another post that
someone had luck with that. I think I am one of those who have just run into
a wall with no where to go. Where is Microsofts War Room on new releases when
you need them.
