Since installing DSL I have been unable to go to
Microsofts web site for updates. All I get is page can
not be displayed. Contact system administrator. This
computer is the one that I use at home so I am the system
administrator. I have spoken with SBC several times
about this. They had me change my DNS numbers then delete
cookies and temp files and change secutity on my computer
and I astill not able to open up your web site. I was
told that I needed to go to www.microsoft.com to get
help. Well that is my problem. I am unable to. Can
anyone help me with this.

just checking are you sure your not off line on the web
browser? or you are spelling the Microsoft update sight
correctly? My solution may be way off but give it a try

You might have a corrupted user account,if you have
a second,or just create one then try update. If all int-
ernet is available and update is the only problem.

Yes I am on line. I have a DSL line installed. That is
when all my problems started. I can bring up parts of
Microsofts web sites like this feature but not the
updates. I get page cannot be desplayed. The page you are
looking for is currently unavailable. The web site might
be experiencing technical diffiuctlies or you may need to
adjust your browser. SBC had me add DNS setting and go
into internet options, delete the cookies and tem files.

Hi Diana
You did not mention a firewall. Are you by any chance
running ZoneAlarm Pro firewall? If so, try this:
Click "Privacy", click "Main Tab" turn "Cookie Control"
and "Ad Blocking" off. Now try to secure the updates.
If you are already at the site and have received the
error before you followed my instructions, click
the "Refresh" button on your browser toolbar. That
should take care of your problem and the site should
offer to scan your computer
