I wish to use Photoshop CS2 to edit .dds files, which are used by a
program I wish to modify. .dds is not natively supported by Photoshop,
but I've installed the proper plug-in and that works - openning
Photoshop and using Open and navigating to a .dds file will
successfully open the file, and I can edit it, save it, etc etc. That
much is good.
But the other way around does not work. Right-clicking on the file,
selecting Open With... and then clicking Browse... and navigating to
Photoshop.exe does not add Photoshop to the list of programs I can use
to open the file with, it adds ImageReady.exe instead (which makes no
sense, considering ImageReady is unable to open .dds files at all
anyway). I've also tried changing the association in the Folder Options
File Types tab, but that brings up the same dialog as right-clicking
and using Open With, so that's no help... anyone have any ideas?
(for the hell of it, I tried selecting ImageReady.exe instead of
Photoshop.exe, but that still gave me ImageReady CS2 as my only option)
