I am unable to delete a sheet within my workbook. That option is grayed.
Using Office2000.

Thanks,
Kate

Perhaps the workbook structure is protected (Tools -- Protection -- Protect
Workbook).

Hmm. It's not protected, but does show up in Active Title Bar (Shared) after
the file info. How did that happen and how can it make it stop!

Thanks,
Kate

See XL Help for "Remove a workbook from shared use" -- if you're sure you
want to.

Hi i have found a work around for this problem.

Hi i have found a work around for this problem.

open the file you are trying to delete the sheet form
Try to go to the file menu and say new
now select the create from existing option,
then you could give the path of the existing work book from where you are unable to delete the sheet.
Now excel will prompt to save/Cancel, say cancel, and now you will be able to delete sheets. then you could save the file.

Thanks,
Dudday.

@ pavan,
This really worked
Thanks
Confirm if correct:
1) Keep the file in question open.
2) Click on file
3) Click 'New' to open a new file
4) When prompted to open a new file or from
an existing location, choose create from an
existing location
5) browse and Select the file in question.
6) When prompted to save the current file, hit
cancel.
7) now try to delete the worksheets.
