Hi,
scenario:
Xp Pro. SP2,
User installed activex plugin to some online services, computer removed
from domain, computer put in new domain.. user tries to access online
service again, fails..
User tries to delete the activex keys to the program from the
registry.. user fails..
hklm\software\classes\dataloen.clsag
I've tried:
Taking ownership of the hive as:
Local administrator
Domain administrator
Domain user account(local admin privl.)
Booting on a Winternals cd and using an offline regeditor..
Nothing helps..
I'm not able to see the 'old' owner of the keys.. and i'm not able to
make a new one.. or change permissions in any way..
Any ideas, besides re-installing...
And yes.. i've tried with both Regedit and regedt32..
And.. before all you flamers go bonkers.. they're the same in winxp and
win2k3..
And please.. dont waste my, or your, time on paste'ing some random
technet articles on 'how to take permissions on a registry key'
Rehs.
