Unable to debug with Symbol (Mobile 2003) but ok with iPAQ

I have been developing with an HP iPAQ for several months. My programs have been moved to Symbol 8000 and 9000 series units by customers but I never had a unit to test. I just got a Symbol 8146 and 9000g. When I attempt to debug it says it's copying the exe over and then freezes for about 30 seconds. Finally it displays a dialogue that it was unable to Deploy. The radio is on in both cases and I'm trying to debug via a docked ActiveSync connection. I did get the 9000 to debug one time and then never again. If I copy the programs over they run fine but I can't debug. Real pain.
 
Communicate with Symbol. They know at least a little bit about managed code
and they'll be able to give you better detailed information on what they
know works.

On several occasions I have noticed that having an active WLAN connection
while debugging over ActiveSync creates problems similar to the one you have
described.
