I tried to put my movie to CD recently and a box popped up telling me that "a
recordable CD drive was not detected". I just made a movie in November...
Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? I have Windows XP and am using
Movie Maker that came with the computer.
Thanks for any and all help!

Go to "My Computer" Right click the CD Writer icon and select properties.
under the [Recording] tab make sure there is a check mark next to "enable CD
recording on this drive"

wojo,
thanks for the post. however, when i go to my CD-Rw drive (drive D) there is
no recording tab.
i think the problem lies with the windows program itself.
i did save to my computer / my videos and was able to copy video using Roxio.
am thinking that windows programs have problems.

That's interesting.
If there is no recording tab then normally I would have suspected either a
bad writer or a bad driver for that writer. But then Roxio recognized and
burned using the drive. Interesting. If it were me the next thing I would do
is check out the manufacturers website (for the disc drive) for updated
drivers or firmware.
