I'm not sure if this is just an Internet Explorer problem or if it's related to all the problems I've been having lately with my computer

First I stopped being able to sign on to my ISP until I switched to a previously limited user account. (I have XP with 3 users listed.) Then my computer would shut off whenever I turned on Internet Explorer. Now I can get on to IE6, but no pages will download

I've used Spybot S&D, Spy Sweeper, TSD, an anti-hacker program and done a complete anti-virus scan with Norton. There are several odd entries in my event logs, and I haven't yet been able to determine if they're legitimate or not

As checking for Windows updates can only be done w/IE and a learning site I'm enrolled in only works with IE, I'm really eager to get an answer to this. Thanks for any help

I downloaded LSP-fix as recommended, but it was suggested
I backup my registry before using it. I tried using the
Windows Backup utility on the System State, but it always
hangs. Will the System Restore work to back up
registry? And is there some other way to do this besides
using the Windows Backup?
