I have to windows XP computers that I get the fokllowing error message when
trying to acces any AD admin tool. " The domain xxx.xxxx.com could not be
found because The specified domain either does not exist or could not be
contacted." however I am able to connect with my Windows 2000 PC. Besides
that I am able to log into the domain, browse the DC with drive mappings and
connect to DNS, which is running on the DC I can not administrator from my XP
PCs. The domain is on a Windows 2000 Adv Server and has a wireless card.
The two XP PCs have a wireless card and the other is a ethernet card. The
windows 2000 has a ethernet card.

Run ipconfig /all on each computer & compare. Make sure you have only your
AD DNS server's IP in there - no public DNS servers.

I am having this same problem. Were you able to figure
this one out or get any help? (e-mail address removed)

Did you read my replies to the original post?

Note - posting your valid e-mail address in a newsgroup post, or in your
news account settings, is a surefire way to get spam and SWEN and other
viruses sent to you....see http://www.mailmsg.com/SPAM_munging.htm for help
in the future, but note that now that your address is out there, there's not
much you can do other than changing your address.
