Unable to connect via USB ports!!! HELP

I have Windows XP Pro (original disk) and I installed SP1.
After that installation, USB 2.0 ports seem not to
function anymore, as USB mouce and modem are not
recognized by OS. Any ideas or workarounds? PLease HELP!!!!

try re installing the drivers from the motherbaord CD
