I have two computers on the same LAN with the same Remote
Desktop Settings and one can connect fine and the other
cannot it gets the message

"The Client could not establish a connection to the
Remote Computer"

Any ideas. My firewall is not blocking port 3389 and the
other Windows XP computer is working fine. Any ideas as
to what would prevent the connection?

One thing to check - double check your subnet mask for your internet
connection... Compare the settings on your two machines to see if
they are similar...

Ok I installed the patch, and my subnet mask is the same,
so this did not make any difference. Any ideas?

thanks for you quick response!

Are there any other connectivity problems between these two machines?
Can you "ping" the other machine or map a network drive from it?

I have a similar issue, however, the PC in question can connect to one W2K Server but not another. Yet another PC on the Network connects just fine to both. I have seen this happen several times on several different networks. Once the PC starts to get the connection error it never connects again. Any thoughts
