I have a win 2kPro computer that I am trying to network
with a win 98se laptop. I am useing a hub and cat-5 cables.
trouble that I am haveing is that the W2kP computer see
the 98se system but can acess it through My Network
Places. The laptop can't see anything but it's self. Also
unable to Ping the laptop and vice versa. Have tried
uninstalling the hardware and drivers and reinstalling on
both systems but that dosn't help. All network settings a
correct, i.e. same workgroup, subnet mask.

The Win2Kpro computer is also networked by a 2Wire HPNA
and is able to acess the other computers that are on that
network and the internet. was going to use ICS to get the
laptop online also.

Any sugestions as to what to try next or how to fix this
issue?

Thanks in advance

Are you able to poing 127.0.0.1? do you get a link light? If the hardware
appears ok, are you able to ping while in Safe Mode with Networking?
