Hi all,

New in this group and looking for help.

Background...

I have two PC's W2000 & XP. The W2000 machine is connected to the web
via Telewest Blueyonder 1Mb. The two machines are connected together and
ICS is enabled to allow the XP machine to access the web.

All has worked well until 3 days ago.

Problem......

The XP machine will now only look at 'some' web site. There appears to
be no real pattern. For example I cannot look at Yahoo, Eurostar or
eBay. But can look at National Rail, Air Canada & The BlueJays.

To my knowledge I have changed nothing on the XP machine in the last 3
days other than run Microsoft update. On the W2000 machine I have also
run Microsoft update & Zone alarm update.

Anyone got any ideas.

Hi Martin,

Locate the HOSTS file under C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc and open it in
notepad. Look for references to the unobtainable sites - they could also
simply be IP's. Delete them, then close saving changes.

Restart IE and try the sites again.
Had a look - no mention of any site ,other than the 127.0.0.1 (loop back
test I believe)

Any other ideas??
