Unable to connect to Routers Webserver

I am trying to forward my ports on my computor and i am receiveing some difficulty connecting to my routers web page. when i type in my default gateway into my web brouser, it comes up saying "The connection has timed out... The server at ***.***.*.* is takeing too long to respond. If you have any ideas please let me know, ill try anything
 
Reset your router to factory settings - by pressing the Reset button on the router (in a small hole - use a paperclip or similar).

When you have configured your Router as desired, be sure to save your config to a file, to save time if you ever need to reset it again.

Can't help any further, since you haven't given a Make/Model/OS etc.

Ok thanks for the help it worked. i thought there would be something more technical for me to do but i guess i was just overhtinging it. Thank you
