Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I am setting up another computer
and trying to configure Outlook 2003 to retrieve my email. When
trying to send a test message I get an error "logging on to Pop
server, Outlook could not connect to the Pop server...The problem
could be your SSL or port settings for your incoming server..." I
have checked the server address numerous times and it is correct, the
password and account name are also correct. I can ping the server
from this computer with no problem. I have the exact same settings on
the computer right next to me and it connects with no problem. I can
connect to an http mail server but not my main accout. I am using a
NAT router/firewall and do not have the microsoft firewall enabled. I
have checked the knowledge base and deleted all my mail accounts and
recreated them with no sucess.

I had a similar problem, and found that instead of using my username "xyz"
as the username in the account setup, I had to use (e-mail address removed) instead,
and it worked!

Try actually doing a send/receive instead of relying on the "Test Account"
button, and post the error message you get. Sadly, the "Test Account"
button does not give anywhere near the level of feedback that actually
sending and receiving does.
