Unable to connect to intranet from IE

I am facing strange problems w.r.t the intranet connectivity.

All the things were working properly so far. I could connect to all
the intranet machines and also I could connect to the internet through
the proxy we have.
Just an hour back, I restarted the machine(forced restart through the
restart button provided outside of the CPU box). After this, I am
unable to connect to any of the intranet machines from the
IE(eg:http://someIpAddress:8880). I can ping to the machines
successfully. I can connect to the intranet machines via 'Network
Neighbourhood'. Moreover, I can connect to the internet also as
before.
But,if I try to connect to the intranet machines from the Internet
Explorer, it does not work. Additionally, it also reports,
"Unable to determine IP address from host name for someMachine", if I
try to connect with the machines using the logical names which I have
been using for long time.

This seems to be serious problem. Any idea of overcoming this ?

It sounds like your network lost track of your IP address.

A simple reboot (using <Start> <Shutdown> <Restart>)
should fix the problem. If that doesn't work, and you
aren't restricted from doing so, you can also try
running "winipcfg" at the <Start> <Run...> prompt, and
clicking <Release All> followed by <Renew All>. This
process can take quite a while, if you have a several
devices with static IP addresses.

I'd recommend just trying the reboot, as your first
option. It'll probably be all you need to do.
