Best to have then all checked in before you do it
- it will cause all files to be checked in

| I've read that in several places but how will this impact all the other files
| that people currently have checked out? This is a good sized web and I can't
| be responsible for creating further instability in the system. What happens
| to other files currently checked out if I turn off/on Checkout? Will other
| people still be able to safely check in there files?
