I am running Windows Vista Business on my Dell Inspiron 1501. I am no longer
able to check my drives for errors since after I schedule a check for the
next time my computer restarts and after my computer does restart, the error
checking appears to start, but automatically gets cancelled even though I do
not press any key to cancel it. Can somebody please tell me why this is
happening and what can I do to fix it?
Thank You.

Stop even trying to make that check every bootup. You are putting
your drives through a workout that is unnecessary and that might even
shorten their lives.
