Bought a notebook that has Vista Basic installed on it. Was able to install
Incredimail
which is my email program, it works, but I can't make it the default email
program , Vista won't let me. I went to explorer, then internet options, but
was unable to change the default.I went to control panel, then to default
programs to change it, but was unable to change it. Can everyone help me,
with this problem?

Tyr this:

Turn off the User Account Control (UAC) for your account in the
control panel under User Accounts. You will have to reboot after doing
this. Then set Incredimail as the default email account again and test
to make sure the change has taken. Once you have it set as default,
then you should be able to turn the UAC back on (reboot required) and
have Incredimail stay as the default.

I cannot guarantee it will work for you , but is something to try as I
had to resort to this to have the default changed for a program too.

Hi. I have just bought a new laptop with Vista and I also run
Incredimail. I tried exactly what lumpy cat suggested and it worked
first time--so I now have incredimail working perfectly as my default
email account..Thanks :D
