Is there any tool available which will free up IE6 to allow a homepage to be
changed. Have made many attempts to change from NINEMSN to other home pages
to no avail.
Allen

Hi Allen :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, but, try the
following and see if it helps:

If you have SpyBot S&D installed, go to the "Immunize" section.
Is "Lock IE Start Page Settings" ticked?
If so, uncheck it.

also...

Ad-aware is a free multi spyware removal utility that scans your memory,
registry and hard drives for known spyware and scumware components and lets
you remove them safely.

Hi Allen :-)

In addition to those already mentioned see the info on this courtesy of PA
Bear:

Options in several third-party applications can disallow such changes. These
include Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper,
Ewido, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and recent
versions of Zone Alarm (Free and Pro).

Hi Allen,

To add to jans comments, do you have the msn or live toolbar installed? They
have options to use their search settings, which you can switch off.

Regards.

Many thanks to Jan & Rob - problem solved by a combination of running Ad
Aware and BHO Demon which both found gremlins. Although i'm not sure which of
these helped me out.
