Hey guys

I have a client whose PC cannot navigate to any websites, through IE
or Firefox. The PC in question is however sending/receiving email just
fine (POP3), can browse network shares without a problem and can ping
external IP addresses just fine.

What could cause this?

TIA

E-mail and surfing the net are completely different. Example: E-mail uses
Outlook Express, surfing the net uses Internet Explorer. They even use
different servers. You have to check all your Internet settings.

NETSH

Click Start, Run, type:

netsh winsock reset

Press Enter key

Restart the system

You can also try this software download from a working machine:

LSP-Fix

Well, the thing is this PC was working fine the day before. The client
shut the PC down and went home... when she got in the next morning, it
all of a sudden couldn't surf to any webpages. So, as far as I can
see, none of the settings could've/would've changed.

The first thing I would do is scan for malware.
