unable to boot windows

win 2k pro.. i can not get my windows to open. it seems to get caught in a "loop" when it gets to "personal settings", it just goes from "LOADING TO SAVING TO APPLYING AND BACK TO LOADING ETC ETC.... ANYONE KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS? (e-mail address removed) THANK

Cooper,

Have you tried running repair from the win2k cd-rom disc? If you don't
have the repair disk, it will locate it during the process. Give that shot.

The methods I try in these cases require the Win2000 installation CD.

the history of this comp is that i got it from a friend and do not have

any of the discs that ame with the original package. i also just installed
and ran macafee virus scan and found 50 "bad" files. i deleted them all and
it ran ok until i shut it down and tried to restart it. i know very little
about using the computer outside of "point and click". So i do not have a
backup disc as was suggested by another. any ideas? thanks!!
