Hi All

I have a form which worked ind mdb stand alone and linked table method fine
for years. I Imported that form to adp file. It is still working fine.

But whem Add few columns in table and tried to bind them, The following is
happening

I am able to see the column name in the feild list

i can drag and drop

i can enter data

But data is not getting enter in that particular new feild to table.Rest is
working fine.

Ironically, If i create a new form, iam able to bind the feild.

Iam able to enter the data directly into table

why am i unable to enter data of that column (onLy) to table.

I searched web But I could not find any where

Thanks in advance

Use the Refresh Command (F5) while the list of tables is displayed, then
save your form again to make sure that it will take notice of the new
fields. It is also possible that it is the source of the form (either a
select, a query or a stored procedure) that it making fun at you; so you
should also use the refresh function while the list of queries is displayed;
to make sure that Access is fully synchronised with the schema on
SQL-Server.

Finally, a decompile/repair/compact might be a good idea, too.

Hi

I tried all those things, But in vain.

Form is insynch with table because, when ever i enter other than the number
in the field, It is restricting But data is not getting into table.Rest of
the fields are working fine.

As I told previously, I use new form it is working again.

I NOT just used refresh, but also dissconnected, connected etc.still not
working iam using 2000advanced server. Back en is in 2003 server

Is it the problem of DAO/ADO?
I am going Mad. I want to use that form only for peculiar reasons

any help

Are you using Access 2000 or 2002?

Since SP2 for WinXP; I had myself so many problems with ADP-2002 that I
don't use this version anymore. You should try with Access 2003 if you are
presently using A2000 or 2002 with WinXP-SP2.

Hi SL

Actually I am using access2002 on 2000advanced server in 2000file format
with all available patches.

Should I try on different O/S

Thanks in advance

Looks like that you may have some sort of corruption; although I'm not sure.
You should try to make a copy of the form or simply to rebuild it; however
there cannot be a clear answer to your problem; as it is often the case when
some strange bugs are involved.

You can also try to import everything into a blank new database or export to
the 2002/2003 format and the re-export back to the 2000 format.

Personally, before trying with a different O/S, I would try with Access
2003.

Are able to enter and edit data to this column when creating a new form or
if this read-only status is for all forms?

Could be a permission problem (or even having to tables with the same name
but different owners on the SQL-Server). Maybe by exporting this table
under its SQL format and showing us the result, we could see the problem.

The record source used by the form would also be a good thing to see here.

Hi S.L

It is working if it is a new form. Problem is only with that form

Ironically somehting happend.

IT IS WORKING FINE WHEN CREATED O/S 2003 SERVER with access2002, on 2000
format. But when imported back to 2000 advanced server it is not working.

Any way out

Thanks

I tried with Office 2003 On xp It is not working
