Unable to apply W32.Blaster.Worm patch

Miara Transportation Information

I've downloaded the security patch for the W32.Blaster.Worm and have
tried to install it on my Windows 2000 Server. I get an error message
telling me that I need to install at least Service Pack 2.

Well, I've installed Service Pack 2 and Service Pack 3. Still get the
same error message. I'm hesitant to install Service Pack 4 because
I've seen so many bugs reported about it.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this Security
Patch to fail? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you cleaned the registry and file system of the worm?

The worm does not exist on this server. Thanks for the suggestion.
 
did you verify the SPs were really installed properly?

Go to 'Start' and there Select 'Run..'. In the new window that appears type
"winver" (without the ") and there see what it says. Then post this here.
