I have Windows XP Professional and PowerPoint 2002. I am
unable to add sound to my presentation. When I follow the
instructions in PowerPoint Help, some of the tabs are
different and there is no sound option. It appears to have
everything available EXCEPT sound. I've added sounds in
previous versions of PowerPoint, so I'm baffled.

Please help! I have a client who needs sound!

Thanks!

What steps are you following and what menu items are missing? Since you can add
sound in multiple ways, it is difficult to tell from your post what you have
tried.

Are you looking to just insert a sound, or to add it to an animation?
To just add it, use Insert--> Movies and Sounds--> From file
To add a sound to an animation, bring up the Custom Animation task pane.
Right click the animation in question and select Effect Options. It should
default to the tab that lets you add a sound to your animation.

If neither of these are what you are looking for, post back with more
details and we'll see what else can be done.
