unable to add or delete from document i scanned

I scanned a Resume for a friend i sent it to Word 2003. I am looking at it
and as i said earlier i can't add or remove any of the wording in the
document. Your reply was appreciated Thank You.
 
A scanned document is simlpy an image. To be able to work on a scanned
document, you need to use OCR software to convert to text.

If you are using Word 2003 or above, you will be able to use Words own
(limited)built in OCR. Otherwise, Google to find what you need. There may be
some shareware available.
