Unable to add controls to Detail in Design View

Hello.
I am trying to create a report in design view. My record source is based on
select query. When I add the fields the grid, I find I am unable to move the
control to the Details grid and keep the label in the header. Can someone
tell me what I'm doing wrong? I have deleted the label and then tried to
paste it in the header, but this disconnects my association. Please help.
 
A connected Label must be in the same section as its connected Control. You
cannot put them in separate sections. The solution is to disconnect the
label and control, then you can put them in separate sections.

You cannot keep the association between label and the control if
they are in different sections.
Why would this matter?
Just move the label, or the control, individually, so they line up
where you wish them to be.

I always place the new control and it's label in the Detail section.
Then I cut the label and paste it into the header.
If there are many controls to split, I select and cut all the labels
at the same time. Just my preference.

Apparently, I am doing something wrong. When I cut and paste the label in
the header, I get an error code that shows a few messages, such as, "New
Unassociated Label" and "Associate Label with a Control". So, I just
selected the Ignore Error code.

Hi Ken. I don't like to use the wizard to create the reports, so when I
tried creating from the design view, I was thrown off on how the setup should
be. I also was unfamiiar with the error code that I got when I cut and past
the label in the header away from the control in the detail section. So what
I decided to do is to ignore the error. Thanks for your input.
