I created an account for the W2K workstation in AD of the DC in the map computers
When I try to add the workstation to the domain I get the error "Can not find the network path
(Using the local administrator account

DC is setup as a DHCP server and this seems to work fine, I can browse the network and log in to the DC from the workstation

What am I doing wrong here

Thanks & regards
Rien

When you request to add the machine to the domain, I assume you are getting
prompted for a username and password? That username must be someone with
privileges to add a machine to the domain (I think they should be a domain
admin). Be sure to enter domainname\username for username when prompted
rather than just username.

Probably a dns misconfiguration. The domain controller must point to itself
if it is the only dc or possibly another AD dc in the domain if their is
more than one. Domain computers and those that you want to joint to the
domain must point only to domain controllers as their preferred dns server
in tcp/ip properties as shown by ipconfig /all. Your dhcp scope needs to be
configured to do such also. Netdiag on domain computers and dcdiag on domain
controllers can help troubleshoot these issues. Those utilities are on the
install cdrom under support/tools folder where you need to run the setup.
See the link below for more information on dns configuration in a Windows
Active Directory domain. --- Steve
