Unable to activate anti-spyware

I have installed the latest beta anti-spyware on a XP
SP2. I am unable to activate the program. Each time the
program is invoke by clicking on the "target icon", the
wizard pops up. Usually, this wizard only pops up for one
time after the installation. Any changes made after
following through the wizard is not saved and the anti-
spyware is pratically disabled. The system is a clean
installed system. When we download the anti-spyware, the
system is already validated. We have tried
uninstalling/installing the program for a few times. But
it did not do the trick. I suspect that the registry
might be corrupted somewhere during the initial
installation. Are they any solutions to work around this
problem?
Thanks.WT

Found the solution from this thread: It works!

What I'd have recommended, had I managed to post before
the solution was
found, is this:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete \program files\microsoft antispyware and all
sub-folders. You
will lose access to quarantined items, and any custom
settings (which
naturally you don't have 'cause the wizard is
never "taking.")
3) making sure you are logged in as the administrator
user who will
customarily use the program--reinstall Microsoft
Antispyware.

Thanks for finding it. There's got to be something more subtle we could do
to fix this, but at least that works.
