unable to access websites

I recently got verizon dsl with the msn premium. I was using AOL dial up
previously to that. Ever since I have been using the msn software I have had
nothing but problems. I have had to system restore several times since. The
problem I'm having now is that I am unable to access certain websites through
internet explorer or msn browser. I have to log in to aol in order for it to
launch properly. For instance, I want to go to www.miniclip.com from my
internet explorer browser. It will either take me to a search page, or tell
me that the page cannot be displayed. For some reason, I'm just having
problems with this particular website. However, if I log into AOL and then
launch my internet explorer and try to bring up the website, it goes through
no problem. I'm also having problems when clicking on links on various sites.
On ebay, for instance, I'm unable to go to "my ebay". It tells me that it's
an invalid link, when I've done it several times before no problem. I'm
plannin on deleting the msn software, but in the meantime I need to know how
to fix these browser issues in my internet explorer. I have internet explorer
6 with WindowsXP Home Edition SP2. Sorry for such a long explanation, and
thanks for your help.

Annette,
That's because AOL has a vicious habit of rearranging your system to fit
it's needs and then locking other applications out. You will need to
uninstall everything that you can find that is even remotely AOL related and
then reinstall the MSN software. Good luck and remember to make a back-up of
your registry before you go looking in there.
