This is the arrangement that previously worked efficiently for quite a
number of years, despite Linksys' claim that a hub would have
prevented it from doing so:
Cable modem>Assante FriendlyNet hub>Linksys WAP11 access point>
A Mac G4 and a Vaio desktop have been connected from the hub.
A Vaio laptop has been connected via the WAP11 wireless access point,
which was fed from the hub.
Lately, the PC desktop has failed to gain access to the 'Net, despite all
Microsoft Windows XP diagnostics indicating that ALL was working
properly. I have also been able to ping my ISP and still cannot access
the 'Net. Surmising that possibly the hub was the culprit, I installed a
Linksys WMP11 PCI wireless adapter in the Vaio desktop but ran into
the same results. Liniksys Support left me to my own devices as did
my ISP when I followed the "repair" connection's outcome instructions.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
