Unable to access shared database through VPN

We have set up our BCM database on our main computer. The administrator went
through the steps to share the database with me. I am located in another
city.

My user id was chosen by the Administrator and the sharing authorization was
completed.

However, I am unable to select that database through my VPN. I have
followed the instructions that are generated by BCM in the sharing process.
I just can't get the remote computer to recognize me. If I go in via the IP
numbers, then I get a slightly different error box that implies I need to
change the temporary password to my local password. I try to do that and it
doesn't work.

We are running identical versions of BCM and are up to date.

I am able to access that computer remotely and do file handling, etc.
without any problem. Therefore, the other computer is recognizing me.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Keith

Try connecting to the database without BCM - e.g. using sqlcmd - and
see what the error message is.
