Unable to Access Database

I'm in a W2K network infastructure in a school district.
The main database is located at the district office. Most
of the computers here at the High School are able to
access the database except for a couple, mainly the NT
machines. I keep getting a "unable to logon to server"
message or "can not find server" whether it be the
ipaddress or the hostname. Would anyone have an idea why I
can't access and logon to the database with only these
clients?

Not enough info, but possibly bad NetBIOS name resolution. Properly
configured WINS servers and clients would solve it, or possibly AD
integrated DNS.

You cannot find server by IP? How are you trying by IP?
ping x.x.x.x or \\x.x.x.x\share
